t over 570,000 acres, Q Creek Ranch is the largest contiguous ranch in the Rocky Mountains. With so much going on, the ranch is hard to sum up. Within the ranch boundaries, there are about 12,000 cattle, 400 bison, 10,000 antelope, 2,000 elk, 100,000 trout, 30 lakes and you!

Q Creek is located in the midst of central Wyoming's Shirley Mountains, approximately 65 miles southwest of Casper and 40 miles north of Medicine Bow and the historic Virginian Motel. The elevation ranges from 6,300 to 9,200 feet above sea level. From the higher alpine mountain meadows to red rim-rock canyons to lush grass prairies, Q Creek Ranch has been a haven for cattle, cowboys, wildlife and wildlife lovers alike since the turn of the century.

Q Creek has been around for over 100 years and has seen both successes and failures in the business world of the West. Today, Q Creek is a model of contemporary cattle and bison operations. Q Creek also manages their timber, grasslands and water resources to nurture both the environment and wildlife. With the vast array of rare plants and animals, such as the black footed ferret, peregrine falcon and plentiful big game animals, the Nature Conservancy calls the ranch "a bio-diverse treasure of the first magnitude."
